Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Optimization (SMO), which is the modification of the visual and technical aspects of a website page to enhance the page rankings among search engines, first begins with a complete analysis of keyword phrases related to your website. Through in depth research, I will deduce the ideal phrases most appropriate for your specific content. Proper search engine optimization results in targeted individuals viewing your page that specifically requested your content. This means that you are not just getting viewers, you are getting ‘ideal’ viewers.
I guarantee your website will be on the first page in one of the major search engines i.e.- Google, Yahoo, or Bing. I assure you that we will get your site on the first page of Google for your “keywords” and also get traffic to your website, which will result in customers or clients to your website through Organic Search Engine Optimisation.
(SEO) helps in generating leads, sales or simply building awareness. There is more to search engine optimization than just marketing, as companies can derive many business benefits from using SEO.
SEO is the process of analysing your site and modifying it to enable search engines to read it, understand it and index (or catalog) it correctly. This is not rewriting the site or changing the look and feel. It is subtle changes, adding or modifying inconspicuous visible and invisible text so that the search engines can read the site. SEO is not ‘spamming’ the search engines – it is simply helping the search engines help you.
The need for SEO has become acute in the past few years. Web sites are being created with Java, Flash and images all of which search engines cannot understand and ignore. If the content of your website is ignored by the search engines then they can’t index your site, if your site isn’t indexed then no one will find your site by searching for it in Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. If no one can find your site then your hard work and money spent creating the site is in vain.
SEO Benefits
SEO helps in generating client leads, sales leads, sale of products, name branding, or simply building awareness. There is much more to search engine optimization than just marketing, as companies can derive many business benefits from using SEO.
SEO Cost-effectiveness
There is no payment to the search engines for being indexed. This is important for high volume, low intent phrases which can be expensive in paid-search (e.g. ‘car insurance’). It can also be useful for generating visitors to your site from what is known as search engine long tail keyword phrases. Long tail keyword phrases are simply referring to keyword phrases with 3 or more keywords. So, while the search term “car insurance” may have millions of visitors every month, the search term “car insurance for a Lincoln Navigator” would be a “long tail” keyword phrase, which may only get a few thousand searches per month. But, generally speaking, because these long tail keywords are more specific, the likelihood that the searcher is ready to buy something is much more likely. So, SEO is not just about getting more traffic to your site, but perhaps more importantly, it’s about getting your site in front of those ready to buy now. So, while it’s certainly nice to be at the top of a high volume keyword search engine results page and get a million visitors a month to your page, if they are all just browsers or researchers then you still won’t make any money or get any new clients. It is often much more profitable to get 100 visits a month off a long tail keyword phrase that converts at 30%, so you make 30 new sales or get 30 new clients off much less volume because we put you in front of those who were ready to take action.
Fixed Costs with SEO
The cost of SEO is relatively fixed, independent of click volume. Effectively, the cost per click from SEO declines through time after initial optimization costs and lower ongoing optimization costs. Conversely, paid-search is essentially a variable cost, which is getting more and more expensive every day because the competition for the same keywords is rising all the time. The advantages of Paid Search is that you can be at the top of Google page 1 for any keyword in about 30 minutes from now IF you are willing to pay enough for it. The problem is that so many keywords cost so much it’s becoming more and more difficult to make a profit. For some keywords, such as “dui attorney phoenix”, guys are paying over $42 per single click to get just one visitor to their website. Well, it’s not uncommon for a DUI attorney to charge $5000 for each new client. So, he can maybe still make a substantial profit if he can convert just 1 in every 50 visitors. So, 50 visitors costs him a little over $2000, he still makes $3000 minus overhead expenses.
So, now you may ask “Well what the heck does the Pay-per-click or Paid Search have to do with SEO?” The answer is that the attorney at the top of the organic search listings gets about 45% of all the clicks for a given search engine results page. So, if a given page gets 10,000 searches per month, the most visits the guy who is willing to pay $42 per click/visit is about 1%, or 100 visits per month, for which he will pay Google $4200. So, he’d better land one paying client just to break even every month. But, the attorney at the top of the orangic/free search results will get about 4500 visits/clicks to his website per month and ALL of those clicks are FREE. So, he doesn’t have to convert a very high percentage to be wildly profitable. Of course, in most cases today, they probably had to spend some money to get to the top, but I can guarantee you that it costs a lot less than radio or TV advertising.
Now considering all things being equal between the Paid Search DUI Attorney and the SEO/Free search DUI Attorney. So, each has an equally good website, and each has an equally good conversion rate, we’ll say it’s 6%. So, the Paid Search attorney will get 100 visits per month and get 6 new paying clients at $5000 each, and make $30,000 less $4200 for the 100 clicks and any overhead costs. So, his gain is about $26,000 every month. But, the top SEO/Free Search attorney will get 4500 visits and convert 6%, meaning he picks up 270 new clients per month at $5000 each and it’s all FREE, so he makes 1.3 million a month.
Now, the real numbers for the top dui keyword in Phoenix is about 1600 searches per month, not 10,000. I inflated the numbers so the paid search guy could get at least a couple of clients per month for his money for comparison purposes. So, it takes being on the top of several different phoenix dui keyword results to get to the 10,000 number, instead of just one. But, another way to look at it is if 100 clicks of Paid Search was worth $42 per click, or $4200 a month to one attorney. Then the 4500 clicks that the SEO Attorney receives are all just as good, so that has to be worth a minimum of 4500 * $42 or about $189,000 per month in FREE advertising at the very least!
In contrast to Radio or TV advertising, SEO has a long lasting benefit. It gives you the name branding that Radio and TV do, but it also gives you more credibility than the others do. For example, when we watch TV or listen to the Radio, we know all those Plumbers and Satellite Dish guys are paying for the commercial time, but we don’t know which one is honest and which are crooks. Actually the same is true for Google and Yahoo, but internet searchers don’t look at it the same way. When they see the same names in the top five on many different keywords, they believe that GOOGLE is telling them you are an authority on the subject and that you are credible. AND THEY TRUST GOOGLE! Of course, the truth is Google doesn’t really know squat! They put the most dishonest plumbers at the top ALL the time! Why? Because at this point, there’s little to indicate to them the difference between a trustworthy “pick your profession” and a dishonest one.
Brand Visibility with SEO
Think about that search on ‘auto insurance’. The big insurance companies are all desperate to make it onto the first page of Google. The ones that didn’t make it either need to buy PPC ads to be seen, which is expensive for such a competitive search query.
Web Standards / Accessibility
Designing a website for search is an exercise in designing a best practice website. Search engine crawlers notice errors in your code, so valid code is a must for SEO. And that makes for a healthier, more accessible website. Accessible for Google’s crawlers, and for people.
Repeat Business with SEO
Customers referred from search engines tend to stick around for longer. Increase customer lifetime revenues via SEO! That’s because to get referred by a search almost always requires that your site be on the first page of Google and/or Yahoo. So, if your company was there last year and got a customer, you are likely to still be there the next time they look. That’s not the case generally with Paid Search aadvertisers. They tend to come and go.
Customer Acquisition – Targeted Prospects
Search is demand-driven, so anybody referred from a search engine is hoping that your web page matches their search query. If it does, and you show them all the information they need to see, they may well become your next customer.
Credibility / Brand Perception
Why aren’t you in Google for ‘auto insurance’? Consumers expect big brand businesses to be prominently placed in Google, so what is the effect if you aren’t on the first page or two?
